"If you can't explain it to a six-year-old, you don't understand it yourself." Albert Einstein

Parent’s Corner- July 1, 2018

“If you can’t explain it to a six-year-old, you don’t understand it yourself.”  Albert Einstein

This really made me stop and think this week.  Have you ever looked into the wondering eyes of a young child, and really didn’t know how to answer their question?  I have!  It can be scary and frustrating not to have the answer you need at the time, but it also gives you the opportunity to illustrate the learning process at work.  It is a very powerful thing to say, “I don’t know.  Let’s look that up together.”  Showing a child how to use their Bible to find the answers to their questions is a way to strengthen their understanding of the Lord and his Word, as well as an opportunity for you to solidify your understanding of Scripture.  Even as parents, we never stop learning!
