Snow
Parent’s Corner- January 27, 2019
“For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall the word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. “
Isaiah 55:10-11 ESV
For many of us in the Midwest, snow is plentiful at this time of year! While it may be hard to imagine as we bundle ourselves before we embark on our journeys in the frozen tundra that is January, this snow will melt at some point, and it will water the plants that are to come out from their hibernation in the frozen earth.
So are the words we share with our children. While it may not always seem like it, they are listening! Lord willing, the words we say and the Scripture we speak to them will take root in their hearts, eventually to bloom and grow into their own personal relationship with Jesus. This is the prayer of every parent, isn’t it? This is certainly my prayer for my own children. May the Lord bless your parenting this week!
