The Light of the World
Parent’s Corner- December 1, 2019
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” John 1:1-5 ESV
This verse is one of my favorite ways to begin the holiday season. It takes us back to the beginning. . . to what is most important, to where it all began, and most importantly, Who was there at the very beginning! Lights are often used in holiday decorating. Every time we see them, let’s remind our kids of the light of the Lord, and the many things He has made and still cares for. . . including us!
