Filled With Hope

Parent’s Corner- February 10, 2019

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”  Romans 15:13 ESV

I have a prayer journal that I (try to) fill out most every day.  Today, this verse was written at the bottom of the page.  It appeared right after I had listed out my needs, the things that were on my heart that were concerning me, and the details of what is happening in my life.  Right after I had written all of my cares and concerns, I was blessed by the immediate reminder that we serve the God of hope!  Through the power of the Holy Spirit, He can fill us with all joy and peace so that we may abound in Hope as well!  What a glorious promise!

This verse can also be a prayer for our children to bless them at the beginning of their day before the begin their lessons and classes, in the middle of the day as they continue to work on what is before them or the tasks required of them, or at the end of the day as they reflect upon what they were able to, or not able to accomplish.  It is a blessing that can be given at all times, in all circumstances, and in all situations.  Let’s remember to encourage our children as they go about their days. . . we know we need encouragement and reminders of God’s love for us. . . they do too!  They may always realize that that is what they need, but it is!

May God give you joy in your parenting journey this week!
