The Gifts Around Us

Parent’s Corner- February 17, 2019

“And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:19 ESV

Needs.  Wants. Do we always know the difference?

Last week, one of my boys was home sick for several days.  On day three, I decided he could use a little “pick me up”, and I offered to bring home a treat for lunch.  After eating (everything!) he sat back on the couch and said, “Mom, it feels so good to have good food in my stomach and be under a warm blanket.”  Basic needs of food and warmth brought such contentment!

If only we could have that thankfulness and gratitude every day!  We serve a Good God who loves us and wants to supply all of our needs.  If we focus on Him, I believe we are more abt to see the gifts all around us, that he gives us freely every day.  And we see them, and our kids are watching (which they always are) they can see them too!

May you find joy in your parenting this week!
