Following Directions

Parent’s Corner- September 22, 2019

“You shall therefore love the LORD your God and keep his charge, his statutes, his rules, and his commandments always.” Deuteronomy 11:1 ESV

Following directions. . .  a common theme in the lessons taught today.  Moses had to follow God’s instructions even when they led him into unknown territory.  The disciples had to follow the directions given by Jesus as they were called to leave what they knew to be familiar.  Unfortunately, Cain’s actions demonstrate what happens when we don’t follow God’s directions.  The common thread. . . God gave directions that were meant to be followed, for our good and His glory!  The best thing. . . those directions are clearly written for us to look at whenever we want!  Like a map to a hiker, so is the Word of God to the Christian. . . it gives boundaries, directions, guidance, and identifies a safe path.  As you and your family go about your life this week, may you seek the Lord’s direction in all that you do.  You will be glad you did!
