Parent’s Corner- September 29, 2019

 

“Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather grain into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.  Are you not of more value than they?”  Matthew 6:26

 

There are many examples of God caring for those who loves in our Sunday school lessons this week!  How many more can your family add to the list?  What a great exercise in acknowledging God’s care for us!

 

This week in Sunday school. . .

 

2/3s- What is it?  The Story of Manna in the Desert

Scripture- Exodus 16; Numbers 11:7-9

Lesson Truth- God gave his people food.

Aims for the Children- to do at least one of the following during this lesson:

1.     Tell what God did for the hungry people of Israel

2.     Act out part of the story

3.     Sing a prayer of thanks to God

 

4s-5th Sunday School- Jesus Commends the Centurion’s Faith

Scripture- Matthew 8:5-13

Principle- Jesus provides salvation to all who believe in Him.

Ask Your Child- How did the Centurion respond to Jesus?

Apply- By asking God for faith to believe.

This Week- As a family, read Matthew 8:5-13

Next Week- Luke 5:17-26

 

Children’s Church- God Floods the Earth

Scripture- Genesis 6:5-7:24

Lesson Goal- Students will learn that God judges man for his sinfulness.

Bible Truths-

1.     Mankind was very sinful before the flood.

2.     God judged man with a worldwide flood.

3.     God graciously saved Noah and his family.

4.     God’s judgment on the world was complete.

Key Verse- “And God said to Noah, ‘the end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth’”.
