Parent’s Corner- February 16, 2020

“Now therefore fear the LORD and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness.  Put away the gods that your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt and serve the LORD.  And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the LORD, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell.  But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”  Joshua 24:14-15 ESV

We have many choices in life.  Some are very short term. . . What should I wear today?  What should I have for breakfast?  How should I spend the hour in between appointments?  Some are more long term. . . what profession do I choose?  Where should my family live?

No choice is as important as choosing Whom we will serve.  All other choices will flow from that decision.  There are warnings, instructions, directions, and encouragement in the Bible to help us make that all-important choice to choose the serve the Lord, and to help us guide our children in making their choice as well.  I pray that the choice to serve the Lord would be clear and appealing to each and every one of our children!  What a wonderful choice to celebrate!
