Following the Leader
Parent’s Corner- April 19, 2020
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:20 ESV
“Follow the Leader” and “Simon Says” are popular games with nearly every group of children. The challenge is to follow movements or instructions exactly or risk being eliminated from the game. The other challenge. . . deciding who gets to be the leader! I’ve seen this determined by a coin toss, random drawing, deciding whose birthday is closest to that day. Thankfully, as Christians, we have already determined who we will follow. . . Jesus! And what does Jesus tell us to do? Go and make disciples! The most encouraging element of this verse is that Jesus is always with us. We are not doing this alone!
This week in Sunday School, we will be learning about what the apostles did after Jesus ascended to Heaven by studying the book of Acts. Until Jesus returns again, this is still our directive. . . to go and make disciples! I’d love to hear about the creative ways you and your families are showing Jesus’ love and sharing His gospel with those around you, even amidst these challenging days. Follow the Leader. . . do what He says, and remember . . . you are not alone!
This week in Sunday School at home. . .
