Jesus Loves the Little Children
Parent’s Corner- June 7, 2020
“And they were bringing children to him that he might touch them, and the disciples rebuked them.” But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, “Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” And he took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands on them.” Mark 10:13-16 ESV
“Jesus Loves the Little Children,
All the children of the World!
Red and yellow, black and white,
They are precious in his sight.
Jesus Loves the Little Children of the World!”
Ok, be honest, how many of you broke into song instead of just reading those words? This song is a part of nearly every “church kid’s” memory bank, no matter how old that “child” is.
I find great comfort in simplicity. I enjoy returning to the “basics”. There are times where “less is more” is best! I find that doing so helps me become more grounded, more peaceful, and less anxious. During these very strange days where questions, unknowns, and uncertainty abound, isn’t it comforting to know that Jesus loves the little children. . . and that we too are his children, no matter how old we may be? Rest in that love today. Really rest. Soak it in. And give thanks. You are loved, and He wants to hear from you.
