Thankfulness. . . to be continued!
Parent’s Corner- November 28, 2021
“We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the LORD, and his might, and the wonders that he has done.” Psalm 78:4 ESV
“What are you thankful for today?”
A beloved gentleman in our church used to ask this question of everyone, in nearly every conversation. It got to the point that when you knew you were going to see him, you knew you needed to have an answer. You knew he was going to ask!
I’m sure that, this past week, we spent time with family and friends recalling examples of God’s faithfulness and expressing our thankfulness for them and for Him. Let’s continue this spirit of thankfulness into the Christmas season as well! Thankfulness shouldn’t be limited to Thanksgiving but should be prevalent in our lives at all times. As the season seems to shift focus from what we are thankful for to making lists of what we want or have yet to receive, let’s guard our hearts and the hearts of our children. Let’s continue the season of thankfulness! Let’s tell our children of the mighty works God has done, the prayers He has answered, and the promises He has made to those who love Him. Thankfulness is always a great topic of conversation, as well as a great state of mind!
