Holy Living
Parent’s Corner- October 16, 2022
“But as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, ‘you shall be holy, for I am holy.’”
1 Peter 1:15-16
What does it mean to be holy? Certainly God doesn’t expect us to be absolutely perfect all the time. He knows we are sinners! This often creates questions in the minds of children, and honestly, in many adults as well! How are we supposed to be holy? It seems impossible!
I was so encouraged to see a page in our teacher’s book this week that gave specific examples of how children (and all of us!) can strive to be holy. Follow the letters of the word “holy”. . .
Honor God
Obey God
Listen to God’s commands
Yearn to be holy
God doesn’t expect perfection, but He does appreciate the effort! As you go about your week this week, encourage each member of your family to do his or her best, knowing that that effort will please and honor the Lord!
