Being a Fly on the Wall

Being a Fly on the Wall
“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.” Colossians 2:6-7 ESV
Being a fly on the wall. . . As much as my boys try to convince me that this is “creepy” and “sketchy”, I prefer to look at it as an opportunity for unexpected and unpredictable observations. I had such an encounter with the unexpected last weekend, and I am so excited to share it with you!
Serving in Children’s ministry is not just about working with the children in our care. It also gives us an opportunity to develop relationships with those with whom we serve. Last week I overheard a conversation between two parents: one was a volunteer in the room, and one was the parent of a junior helper in the same room. The adult volunteer was expressing appreciation for the junior helper. . . a student who was once a T&T participant under his leadership. The growth and development of the junior helper was evident, and worth mentioning to the parents. It warmed my heart to see these relationships changing, growing, and developing. . . just like the children we serve!
Side note and shameless plug. . . if you have a spouse or friend with whom you would like to serve, feel free to recruit. If everyone recruited one, we would double our volunteer force!
