Singing in the Rain
Parent’s Corner- May 17, 2020
“I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble hear and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together. I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears.” Psalm 34:1-4
How are you doing with this? Are you blessing the Lord at all times? Is his praise continually in your mouth? If you are like me, some days are definitely better than others. . . that is, if you can even distinguish between days while in quarantine! I heard a term used by a friend the other day. She said that it was “blursday”. How fitting!
By God’s grace and in His great mercy, my morning reading today happened to be the passage studied by the 2s and 3s. . . the account of Paul in prison where he was singing praises with Silas. Paul sang praises while in prison. He encouraged others while healing from a beating and sitting in filth. He cared for the jailer who was keeping him there. Paul was truly blessing the Lord at all times. I was convicted, I was humbled, and I was encouraged. Thanks be to God for His many gracious gifts, exactly what we need at just the right time!
I pray that as you are shepherding your children this week, that the Lord might reach you and your family in a very special way, exactly where you are, with exactly what you need. If I can pray with you or for you, it would be my joy to do so!
