Parent’s Corner- November 14, 2021

“Now the Lord said to Abram, ‘Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you.  And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.  I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”  Genesis 12:1-3 ESV

Any day after November 1 (and sometimes even earlier!!) we start to see Christmas displays in stores, Christmas lights going up in our towns, and trees going up in our houses.   It seems that we just can’t wait to start preparing for Christmas!

Talk about preparation. . . from the early chapters in Genesis we start to see the need for forgiveness, the need for a Messiah, and the preparation for Jesus!  This type of preparation did not happen just before the “main event”. . . it was promised for many, many years leading up to it!  As we move closer to the celebration of the first coming of Jesus, may we be encouraged by the great love God has for us as evidenced by His careful planning and promises laid out throughout the entire Bible.
