Lord, From the Depths I Cry to You (Psalm 130)

Lord, from the depths I cry to You
O, hear my anxious voice
Reach down to answer me in love
And lift me to rejoice
If You would tally every sin
Then who could stand before
The holy presence of the Lord
And all Your works adore?
Yet, there’s forgiveness with You, Lord
O God, in Christ, be praised
So now I wait, Lord, I rely
On Your redeeming grace
I’m watching for Your promise, Lord
Just as the watchman waits
For dawn to sprout up from the earth
And cast the night away
And as the lark, while still the dark
Partitions off the sky
O Lord, I sing, I will announce
The eternal dawn is nigh
When all the saints on earth who wait
Oppressed by death and sin
Will sing their God’s unfailing love
Forever without end
O hope in faith, all You who wait
And cry out from the depths
Of sin, despair, and restlessness
From heaven He will send
To all wait on Him in faith
And trust in Him to come
Redemption from their every sin
And lavishing in love
