An Anchor for the Soul

Parent’s Corner- July 28, 2019

“This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast.”  Hebrews 6:19

There were some heavy passages covered in Sunday School this week. . . man’s original sin and subsequent punishment, judgment by God for sinful patterns. . . heavy stuff!  Important to understand certainly, but daunting when not viewed through the lens of the grace and forgiveness that can be found through surrender to Jesus.  The hope we can have in the power of Jesus to save us from our sin can act as an anchor, grounding our thoughts, calming our hearts and giving us peace.  As our kiddos learn of the weight that sin can bring into their lives, may they also be encouraged that the love of Jesus can overcome all when they put their trust in Him.  Praying this for your children, and for mine!

May God bless your parenting journey this week!

Key Verse- “Fear not, I am the first and the last, and the living one.  I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades.  White therefore the things that you have seen, those that are and those that are to take place after this.”  Revelation 1:17b-19
