Are We There Yet?

Parent’s Corner- July 21, 2019

“And the LORD will guide you continually and satisfy your desire in scorched places and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.”  Isaiah 58:11

“Are we there yet?”

Have you heard those words this summer?   I’m guessing you probably have, be it on a long car trip, or on a more “trying” day, even on the way to the grocery store!  When I was a kid, my parents didn’t allow my brother and me to ask that question.  Instead, we were allowed to ask, “where are we on the map?”  We were then given the book of road atlas maps (anyone else remember those???) and given instructions on how to find our current location, and how to plot our trip along the way.  We had the most fun envisioning our final destination!

In our spiritual walk, we know we are not yet to our final destination, but if we read God’s Word and learn his instructions for us on how we are to live our lives, we can know if we are on the right path!  Opening our Bibles. . . reading our maps. . . both allow us to receive guidance and instruction and envision our Final Destination!

May you find joy in your parenting journey this week!
