“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits”

Psalm 103:2 ESV

Count your blessings.

Have you done that recently?  What would be on that list?  Your home?  Your family?  Your friends? A treasured possession?  What happened when one of these blessings was lost, damaged, or injured in some way?  No matter how much we love and care for these, they will not last forever.

When was the last time you counted the blessings of knowing and loving Jesus?  These blessings will last forever!  By loving Jesus, our sins are forgiven, we will spend eternity with Jesus in Heaven, nothing can separate us from the love of God. . . how many more can you count?  This would be a great family activity to see who can come up with the most!

This week’s Sunday school lessons. . .

2s/3s- It’s a Noisy Place!  The Story of the First Creatures

Scripture- Genesis 1:20-25

Lesson Truth- God filled his world with wonderful birds, fish, and animals.

Aims for the Children- To do at least one of the following during this lesson:

1.     Identify some of the creatures God made

2.     Tell who made them

3.     Take a creation walk to look for creatures God made

Additional activities-

1.     Remind children of the world God created for the animals He made. (review)

2.     Use your Bible to show children that the creation of the creatures follows the creation of a place for them to live.  (the Bible is a continuous story)

3.     Let’s pretend!  Suggest that children pretend to be different creatures that God has made.  Hop like a frog, jump like a kangaroo, buzz like a bee.

4.     Guessing Game!  Guess which animal a child acts out.

4s-5th Grade- The Philippian Jailer is Saved
