Invocation

First introduced December 5, 2021 (2nd Week in Advent). A prayer for GCD, seeking the Lord’s influence for each major movement of our corporate worship. We respond to God’s Word with praise, we open ourselves up to His work of conviction and healing, we anticipate His grace and blessing to meet us in our need, and we seek Him for strength to live lives of service.

Praise belongs to You
God and Father of all the earth
Christ our Savior, Eternal Word
Spirit, Indweller

Search and know our hearts
Try our thoughts and reveal our sin
Ev'ry sickness, and guilt within
Search out every part

Meet us with Your grace
Your forgiveness, and healing pow’r
As we gather to You this hour
Heal and help and save

Then with blessing send
Us, Your servants, into the world
In the name of our saving Lord
Amen
