My Salvation (Psalm 42)
Words/Music: Daryle Worley, III, 2024
First shared during Prayers of the People on July 14, 2024.
As the deer pants for the stream
So my soul longs for my King
When will I appear before
My Salvation and my Lord
For by day I cannot eat
And at night my tears I drink
All the while my foes resound
“Where is your salvation now?”
O my soul, are you depressed?
Hope in God and wait for Him
He shall turn your anxious breath
Into song and praise again
So I call to mind the songs
Of the saints within Your house
And I walk beside the stream
Just to bring my soul relief
Yet my foes return in song:
“Where is Your salvation now?”
And the pain descends again
O my Lord, when will it end?
